The Department of Energy, Idaho Operations Office intends to issue a sole source award utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures to the Idaho Falls State University for the Management and Preservation of Department of Energy owned Archaeological Collections and Associated Records for Long Term Curation. This award will be made under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Idaho Falls State University is the only organization with the capability to meet the minimum needs of the government.

This notice of intent to award a sole source contract is not a request for quotations and a written solicitation will not be issued. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System Code (NAICS) code for this requirement is 541990, All Other Professional, Scientific and Technical Services, and the size standard is $19.5 million.
