Project Title: Flatiron Ride Road Reconditioning - Nez Perce - Clearwater NF - R4 Idaho
Scope of Work
The contractor shall perform roadway reconditioning that will result in the proper mix of aggregates and fines to maintain aggregates on the roadway, the elimination of ruts and potholes, maintenance and functionality of ditch-lines and water diversion structures, and removal of rocks, limbs, and other debris from the road prism including ditches, while preserving vegetationthat serves to prevent or moderate erosion from runoff. In addition, the contractor shall perform earthwork on fill slope and place riprap to protect the fill slope at locations as shown in the project plans.
Description of Work
Roadway Reconditioning: Mile post 0.00 to mile post 3.08. Location for performance is on the Red River Ranger District on the Nez Perce - Clearwater National Forests. The specific roads to be reconditioned are listed. Standard industry practice indicates use of a motor grader with a moldboard blade and scarified to effectively perform this type of work. Some roads or road segments may require scarification in conjunction with blading in order to cut out washboards and potholes. The road surface is to be compacted to specifications. The use of water trucks may be required as needed during dry conditions. Diches and catch basins are to be cleared of debris and sediment. All culverts are to be cleaned of debris and sediment.
Project Location
Project site is on FS Road #1809 Flatiron Ridge Road. Travel approximately 51.2 miles east of Grangeville, Idaho via State Highway 14 and turn right on National Forest Service Road (NFSR) 443, travel 2.3 miles northeast to NFSR 1809 Flatiron Ridge.
